My FAKE 8GB USB Drive is actually 1GB in capacity with a MW6208E controller and Toshiba TC58NVG3D4CTGI0 memory unit. VID=2001 PID=2008
Steps:
1. You can fix your drive with an utility http://www.bloggybloggy.com/randomdownloads/UdTools1.0.4.0B_20080714.zip
2. Just click on the button with your drive disk name (ex. “X:”)
3. Mine has been fixed with the substraction of some bad area, so it is now 946 MB available.

It seems that I have the same flash, only 16GB, but I just don’t know how to repair it..
The UdTools program says: ”Error: Not Find Chip Info! Chips=1 FlashID=2CD7943E”

Udtools was looking for memory with a chip id of 2CD7943E, which is typically micron memory.
You will need to visually determine the memory model # and see if matches any that udtools is aware of.

Niraj, do you suspect your usb flash drive is a fake? Or did you get a virus from somewhere?
You should scan and clean your computer with anti-virus software. Then attempt to scan and clean the usb flash drive if you don’t suspect it being a fake (false size).
Recovering data from a usb flash drive that is true capacity, is usually not possible. Brand name vendors for usb flash drives often tell people in their FAQ that they don’t offer recovery services and do not nominate 3rd party companies who might.
If you purchased a fake Niraj, many come with viruses and trojans. The reprogramming environment was not clean. Also if your 8GB is really 2GB, then if you put say, 7GB of data on it, 5GB at least will be corrupt. Reason? It was never copied to usb flash drive, there was no place for files. Instead for a fake, only information about the file is copied (name, date, size, folder), not the real file.
Step 1: Make sure your PC is free of viruses and that you are running protection on your computer.
Step 2: If you are gentle with fingers. You must open the usb flash drive.
a) find little square controller chip. Copy all serial information down on paper.
b) find the long black chip (flash storage chip). Copy all serial information down on paper.
c) reassemble usb flash drive
Step 3: depending on the serial information for flash storage chip, (do you have a company?) search internet for the capacity of this chip. What is it’s size? 8GB or 2GB, or 4GB?
Step 4: attempt to copy your files back to computer. save what you can.
Step 5: using information of Step 2 a) b) you must come back to this site. Read VID PID article, then look at left menu bar for usb flash controller chip family. If you find articles, look for links to software. Otherwise you go to the russian site and search, but look for controller family, not vid pid. Objective is to find a low level software that will reformat your usb flash drive. Be aware that in low level format, all information data will be cleared.
Step 6: Test with H2testw to confirm you have a good usb flash drive whatever final size is. Never use until you have a good report.
Hope this will help you Niraj. Not clear if you have a real usb flash drive true capacity or fake usb flash drive false capacity. Make sure your computer is clean before you do anything.
