HOW I SUCCESSFULLY REPAIRED THE DRIVE (3.8Gb Capacity) By WiseOne

VID: 1111
PID: 2222
Controller: FC8308 – ALCOR
Chip: (one NAND flash chip SpecTek FBNL63A51K3WG-AF equiv. to Micron MT29F4G08MAA).

The data sheet (http://www.spectek.com/pdfs/SpecTek_pns_Flash.pdf) showed me the ID of the chip, and I found it in the FC MpTool INI file and discovered it was the same as the Micron chip (must be imported by
Micron as one of theirs).

Have repaired the flash device now with FC MPTool:

FC_MpTool_1.19

  1. Ran the FC MPtool.exe without the drive plugged in, plugged in the drive and clicked refresh.
  2. Choose the Micron MT29F4G08MAA, under Flash Type and under “Other” Tab, “Compel Flash”
  3. MP Setup: Optimize: LLF Set optimize
  4. Set VID and PID to 1111 and 2222 under “Information” tab.
  5. Chose filesystem FAT32 under “Bad Block” tab.
  6. Clicked Ok, then “Start”

It tested successfully with h2testw.

Note: You may consider to open the usb flash memory drive to check the storage chip before proceeding with the reflashing exercise, if the tool does not auto detect your memory flash storage chip.

Where did you get the tool from? What version is it? Advise you look for a different one.

The objective is to find the version that recognizes the usb flash drive, and only check the set up options to make sure ecc is closed, then run in automode to repair the size.

There are many different versions, Akash. Many different tools.

mptool on win 7 64bit does not find any drives.
    Any ideas?

I open the program as administrator,.

The only pushable button is the setup one.
Asks for a pass change. Leaving all empty i can change the setup but still no devices found.
So the Start pause and so on are gray and unpushable.

Tried the ver 1.9 to 4.0; no luck.
